Who’s That Girl?!

Hello, rest day and hello, heavy legs! Yep, I’m sore. And I haven’t craved coffee as much as I have today in a VERY long time. I woke up and felt that, “I need my coffee to function” kind of day. But I was two coffee’s in (yea, I know and they weren’t small… they were grande sized!) And my friend Ali (who I am excited to announce that I have convinced her to run a race with me this year! YAY! Another new running BFF!!) sent me this message:

“Song I think you would like – Guy Sebastian – Who’s That Girl… he’s an Aussie artist, they CONSTANTLY played him when I was over there and I feel like you need to listen to that song.”
Ali won. I did need to listen to that song. 5 seconds in and I was in LOVE. She just gets me. I LOVE it! It will be on my next running playlist!  Maybe yours too?!
And then more exciting news flooded my inbox– I have 5 more running BFF’s joining me for my Sporting Life 10K! It’s time to make some more custom designed training plans as promised. I can’t wait!

Boot Camp My Way To The Sporting Life 10K!

So, I started a new class to keep up my cross-training in the winter: Boot Camp. And I may have just fallen in love. My instructor is fierce and she knows how to kick-butt– I LOVE IT! Looks like I will be lifting weights more then I thought- Kelly Ripa and Michelle Obama, waaaatch out! My arms are gonna look like yours very soon! My friends use to rave to me about this hardcore workout but I never jumped on their bandwagon… until now. Annnd– another BFF jumped onto my running soul train! SO excited!! Meet my newest running BFF (I LOVE saying that! And I love saying love– have you noticed?!) Here’s my two newest running BFF’s:

My Running BFF’s: Shan, Me, and Tasha

If you will notice this image is very similar to my previous post image of my newest running BFF. I like to call this, “the night my friends became crazy runners like myself!” And this just in, Tasha and I have just signed up for the Sporting Like 10K in Toronto on May 1st, 2011! (Shan– it’s your turn to make it official! *wink*wink* I’m about to go and make your training schedule…) I’m SO excited! And I hear more bff’s might be joining in on the fun! (YA! YA! YAAAA!)

Get pumped with this preview:

My first official registration has been made for the season– the countdown is on!

Sprained Toe on the D-Floor

I went into my run with a brand new playlist and feeling pooped. My calves have had quite the workout the last few days and all I could imagine was the fact that a few hours after my run I would be in 4 inch heels dancing the night away. As I waited for a machine to become available I gave myself a good stretch and decided to hit a bicycle until my t-mill was ready to get destroyed by me. A machine became available 2 minutes into my bike ride. Phew! I didn’t really feel like a saturday morning cycle. I put on my new playlist that I was loving! I would have to say my fav song of my easy, breezy, 0% incline run was Black and Yellow by Wiz Khalifa. Such a power run song. I feel so gangsta. Except for the fact that I am definitely on the lowest scale of “gangsta” that one could possibly be.

So, flat running I went. My calves definitely appreciated that one. You’re welcome! As I left the gym I was feeling as fit as a flea and ready to get my cocktail dress ready for a night of battling dance moves on the d-floor. I may have battled so hard that I sprained a toe. Whoops! It’s nothing major- incase you were worried. I will be working out on it tomorrow, guaranteed!

And I have some more good news–> I have a new running friend! YAY! I’m so excited. I just designed her running plan to train for her first half marathon– which we just might do at Disneyland in 2011. Hello, Sleeping Beauty’s Castle! I just love when my best friends have the same crazy hobbies as me!

My Newest Running BFF!

Ahhh I can’t wait to summer run outside… just a few more months! C’mon summer, you can do it!
