B.o.B’s Keeping the Pace.

After reading my friend’s blog D I X O N F O M A. I was inspired to create a running playlist based on the song Airplanes by B.o.B feat Hayley Williams. I also had a thought. If everyone learns differently and everyone has completely unique DNA, wouldn’t people train differently? I decided to put my theory to a test. Since I am a music lover, I created a playlist that would make myself run to the beat of the song playing. This would make sure that I am keeping to a practical pace.

Here’s how the playlist went down:
Airplanes- B.o.B feat Hayley Williams from Paramore
Up Up & Away- Kid Cudi
Love Generation- Bob Sinclair
Real Girl- Mutya Buena
Driving Me Crazy- Sam Adams
I Got Love For You- Michael Franti & Spearhead
Corona and Lime- Shwayze
C’est La Vie- UB40
Me Love- Sean Kingston
Knock You Down- Keri Hilson, Kanye West, & Ne-Yo
All Dressed In Love- Jennifer Hudson
Top of the World- The Pussycat Dolls
Give Me the Music- Eva Avila
Let’s Get Loud- Jennifer Lopez
Dreamer- Chris Brown
Fire- Glee Cast feat. Kristen Chenoweth
Gone Going- Black Eyed Peas feat. Jack Johnson

Cooldown/Stretching:
Pretty Wings (Uncut)- Maxwell

This run was challenging, tiring, fulfilling, and in one word: amazing!
Pre-run I had a headache, very little energy, and was kicking myself out the door. After lathering myself up with sunscreen, while downing a coffee, and smelling like a coconut with a cute running cap on my head- I was ready to go!
I really had to push myself to keep at a slow pace especially running up and downhills, around paths, over bridges , and passing a cute twenty-something couple having a picnic in the park! (I need to do that soon- I got jealous.) I really did keep to the pace to the songs. Except at the times (yes you, 9.5Km!) When I was exhausted and had to walk it out. But I just kept telling myself “Siobhan, you can do this, just push yourself. Even J Lo is singing at you to just do it!” So, I ran it out and Chris Brown dropped the tempo with Dreamer and I could not have been more grateful! When Fire came on, I ran it out like I was only running a 100 meter dash. It felt awesome.

I won’t lie you to you. I dropped a lot of breathless F-Bombs during this run. It’s was tough. Right now I am filled with so much energy and my leg muscles are sore. My muscles will most likely be super sore tomorrow but I think I will be trying this technique out again!

Stats of the Run:
Distance: 12.13 km
Pace: 5:08 min/km
Calories: 524
