What I Ate Wednesday: Chia Seeds Granola

I’ve been hearing a lot about the health benefits of natural Chia Seeds (yes, they are the same seeds in the cha-cha-chia pets!) I decided to give it a try and add it to my oatmeal in the mornings with RAW Goodness Chia Seeds:

I mean seriously, look at all this nutrition in these little seeds:

I was pleasantly surprised to find that Chia Seeds don’t have a strong taste and they are pretty much like poppy seeds but obviously with more nutrients! So, I experimented and made my own delicious granola recipe that is mainly Chia Seeds. This recipe seriously tastes like the granola on the top of an apple crisp but it’s actually healthy for you!
Siobhán’s Cha-Cha-Cha-Chia Granola
INGREDIENTS
2 Cups of Rolled Oats
1/4 Cup of Ground Chia Seeds
2 Tablespoons of Ground Flax Seeds
1/4 Cup of Olive Oil
1/3 Cup of Honey
1/4 Cup of Chia Seeds
1 Cup of Diced Blackberries
1 Teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
Pre-heat your oven to 300 Degrees F.
In a large bowl combine all of the ingredients. To turn your chia seeds into ground chia seeds, put them in a coffee grinder and ba-bam! They are magically ground.
Lightly oil the bottom of a non-stick dish and spread your granola mixture into the dish. Place it into the oven and bake for 50 minutes; taking out your Cha-Cha-Cha-Chia Granola every 10 minutes to give it a stir.
And voilà! You now have yummy granola that you can eat solo, put it on cereal, or even on fro yo!
