Today, I traded in my nine blue mats for the black dance floor. Sh!t just got real. Please cue Pitbull because I went back in time:
It has been an incredibly long time since I have hit a dance floor that didn’t involve a drink in my hand and singing at the top of my lungs. Like on Friday when we did a gangster photo shoot on the boat as we sailed across Lake Ontario. If you look very closely, you can see the CN Tower in the background:

But today, it was time to get down to business. 10 years ago, my favourite dance instructor opened her own studio. This year, she invited the alumni from season one to perform at her year end recital. I introduce to you my dance studio:
I can’t even tell you how hard it is to dance again. You think that it would be no problem especially because I do cheerleading. But the thing is, cheerleading “dance” and dancing at a studio are two completely different things. Cheer dance is rigid and fast. This dance that I am doing is hip hop and flowy. Honestly, it’s going to take a lot of practice for me to get this choreo down for next weekend.
Coming out of retirement is HARD.
Wish me luck!
Have you ever come out of retirement? How hard was it for you?
