For the last two weeks I have had pain in my arches, the ball of my foot, and up the sides of my foot. Reading Runner’s World taught me that this could mean I have Plantar Fasciitis (PF). And I’m about to confess to you that I think it is true. I have been trying to take it easy and rest my foot and not run on it. This could be one of the hardest things. Also, why I have not been blogging. I took a full run vaca. And I’m so sad that I still wake up with pain in my feet and the pain comes back throughout the day. So, I think it’s time to see some doctors. I even found that after kettlebell last night my feet were also twinging again. I think it could be because of the calf pain I was complaining about the week before the Toronto Half Marathon and I ran through it. Apparently, tight calves can cause PF.
Just my luck.
So, I went to get a mani and a pedi last weekend with hopes that the massage and cooling treatment would give my feet the boost they need to come alive again.
Wrong. Even though massages are a way to treat PF, a pedi massgae is nowhere near the type of massage that my feet need. So, to the professionals I will have to go. Is it a sign that on the way to the spa I saw a billboard that said, “Foot Doctor: Accepting New Patients! Call us Today!” Yes. It is. And I will call them because a week later with zero running I can still feel the pain which is more in my left foot today.
I’m not sure when I can start training again but the faster I get to the doctor I can figure it out because my 30K is coming up soooo soon! And I will be running it!
