Dr. Dre Beats Fail.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know one key thing about me, I can’t don’t run without music. Music sets my pace. It gets me pumped for hills and slows me down during intervals. I once tried running without music and I made it 200 meters before my earbuds were blaring an amazing playlist. But Wednesday was a sad, sad day. My Dr. Dre Beats would only play through one earbud.

I love running with music so much that I was fiddling with the cord as I ran so that I could hear my new playlist that I created right before I hit the pavement. It worked momentarily. Then, it didn’t work anymore.

I went out for a 4K and by 2K I was running without music and to my surprise I liked it! You read that right.

I could hear the streams flowing by beside me, the birds chirping, my feet hitting the floor, and my breath. I would love to tell you that I’m going to start running sans music but I will be going out to buy new headphones tonight and postpone my 7K run that was scheduled for today and run it tomorrow morning. It’s going to be an early run because I have morning plans tomorrow but I’m willing to let that happen. #makeitcount

And THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all the wonderful messages in my inbox, facebook, and twitter on advice about my ridiculously low iron problem. This post would have been up yesterday but the nausea set in last night and looking at my laptop screen just made it worse. I’m looking into natural ways to get my iron because if you saw my last tweet, the pills still aren’t working for me.

Have a fabulous weekend, friends!

Do you suffer from low iron?

Are you a with or without music runner?
